ITRS Geneos MS Teams Integration

Supercharge Your Incident Response with Microsoft Teams Integration in ITRS Geneos and ITRS Analytics

In today's always-on digital world, IT operations teams are under pressure to respond to incidents quickly, collaboratively, and intelligently. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new integration to support direct alert notifications into Microsoft Teams.

This feature bridges the gap between monitoring and collaboration—so you can go from detection to resolution faster to minimise business impact.

Why Microsoft Teams?

Traditional alerting methods—think endless email threads or ticket noise—are no longer enough. Critical alerts often get lost in the clutter, and by the time the right team sees them, it’s already too late.

But Microsoft Teams is where your teams already collaborate—across DevOps, SREs, Support, and even business stakeholders. By bringing alerts straight into Teams channels, you can:

  • Reduce alert fatigue
  • Improve triage time
  • Accelerate incident resolution

What’s New: Adaptive Cards, Context-Rich Alerts and Automation

With this integration, alerts from ITRS Geneos and ITRS Analytics are posted directly to Teams using interactive Adaptive Cards.

That means you're not just getting plain text messages—you’re getting rich, actionable alerts with Timestamps, Severity levels, Affected entities, Custom attributes and Deep links back to ITRS Analytics for further investigation.

You can click “View Entity” to instantly drill down into live data, historical trends, metrics, and logs to start your investigation with full context.

The Microsoft ecosystem also enables smart workflows using Microsoft Power Automate. You can trigger automated workflows to:

  • Generate AI-powered summaries with recommended next steps
  • Surface relevant documentation or knowledge base articles
  • Seamlessly trigger actions across tools like Outlook, To Do, SharePoint, Azure services, and more

Getting Started: How It Works

It’s simple to set up:

  • Create a Teams Channel – This is where your alerts will land.
  • Set up a Webhook – Using Power Automate or Teams, configure a workflow that listens for incoming webhook requests.
  • Configure ITRS Analytics – Paste the webhook URL into the Notifications app and define your alerting rules.
  • Fine-tune Filters and Formatting – Control noise and tailor your messages for clarity and relevance.
  • Start Receiving Alerts – Watch your alerts show up in Teams in real time, fully actionable and collaboration-ready.

Why It Matters

It’s a step towards smarter observability and proactive operations.

You get:

  • Faster time to resolution
  • Cleaner, context-rich notifications
  • Streamlined collaboration
  • Powerful automation workflows

And importantly, it doesn’t replace your existing tooling—it enhances it. Use this with your ticketing system, your runbooks, and your existing incident workflows.
